A Gentle Presence
Kindred Counselling and Psychotherapy has emerged through an ongoing process of quiet observation, gentle consideration, and feeling, in response to the question: What can be done to alleviate unnecessary suffering?
This question has remained predominant throughout my years as a practicing clinical counsellor and psychotherapist.
What can I do as a therapist? And what can you do in your unique existence to address your concerns and create changes in your life? As humans, we are multifaceted, we are psychologically and physiologically motivated, but we are also meaning-oriented, existential beings, striving to achieve purpose and value, to engage in a life well lived. In my practice, I have found that we often need to work on all levels, holistically, to address our issues.
Kindred Counselling and Psychotherapy is a personal response to what I have found to be most valuable in therapy. That is: a safe, calm, and professional presence with whom to communicate and be heard. I offer a space wherein one can be vulnerable to understand self, without fear of judgement, warts and all.
Kindred Counselling and Psychotherapy is a professional and accredited service. At the core, I am compelled by a belief that everyone has both the capacity and motivation to change, but for various reasons we may find ourselves stuck and unable to move forward in development and growth.
